Rental Policy Requirements

Our first concern is for the safety of our customers. We have adopted several policies to ensure you have a safe and worry-free experience. The following policies will help us meet that goal:

Reservation Deposit

A reservation deposit of $750.00 is required to secure the rental. Any additional charges will be deducted from your deposit and the balance will be returned to you within 10 business days following the return of the vehicle. The deposit is subject to fees if a cancellation should occur.

Rental Day Calculation

Our rates are calculated using the number of nights you will have the motorhome. For instance, if you pick a motorhome up at 3:00pm on Friday and return it at 9:00 on Monday, we would bill you for 3 nights.

Drivers

All authorized drivers must possess a valid driver's license. There is no limit as to the number of authorized drivers who may operate the motorhome, however, they must all be over 25 years of age. All drivers must be listed on the Reservation Application and appear on the Rental Contract. There is a charge of $9.00 for checking drivers licenses. We will ask for a copy of each authorized driver's license and proof of insurance.

Collision Protection Coverage (CPC)

CPC is an optional program designed to reduce your liability if you are in an accident. All motorhomes are required to be covered by insurance prior to departure. You may purchase CPC at a cost of $14.00 per day, or you may provide a "Certificate of Insurance" issued from your insurance company. Certain damage is not covered by insurance.

Pets

There is an additional fee of $50.00 for those people who travel with animals. Additional cleaning fees may be charged as well.

Storage

Each motorhome provides storage within the unit, or outside the unit in designated storage compartments. In order to protect you and your personal belongings, we prohibit storing items in areas other than those intended for storage, including the roof area.

Towing

You must inform us of your intention to tow a vehicle or trailer when you make your reservation. We will need to know the weight of the trailer (empty, and completely loaded), its width, and its length. You will be prohibited from towing if the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating is lower than the estimated weight of the vehicle including passengers, full tank capacities, and cargo. A customary towing charge of $0.15 per mile   will be applied. We DO NOT provide collision or liability protection for the towed item or for third party damage or injury caused to or by the towed item, regardless of circumstances.

Fuel Use and Information

The cost of fuel used during your trip is not included in the rental rate. The fuel tank will be completely full when you pick up your motorhome. The vehicle must be returned with a full tank of fuel. Upon return, we will top off the fuel tank. Refueling fees will be assessed if the tank is not completely full. BATES Motorhome Rental of New Orleans makes no guarantee of the fuel mileage or the tank capacities. Because fuel consumption varies according to road conditions, speed of travel, type of fuel, generator use, and other variables, we can only offer a rough estimate of the fuel mileage expected.

Motorhome Pick Up and Return Times

You will be scheduled to pick up your motorhome between 3:00pm and 4:00pm Monday through Friday, and at 12:00 noon on Saturdays. You may pick it up earlier than this if prior arrangements have been made. There is a charge of $50.00 for pick up before the scheduled time.

Your motorhome must be returned by 10:00am on the scheduled day of return. You may return it later if prior arrangements have been made. A charge of $50.00 will be assessed for late returns after 10:00am.

Deliveries and Pick Ups

BATES Motorhome Rental of New Orleans will deliver a motorhome to almost anywhere in the continental United States. We will also pick up a motorhome from nearly any location in the continental United States. You will be billed an additional fee based on:

Maintenance

Like cars, our motorhomes require periodic maintenance in order to operate properly. You will be asked to check all engine fluids each time you refuel your motorhome, and check the oil level in the generator every 6 hours of operation. In addition, you will be expected  to have the engine and generator oil changed if you drive more than 3000 miles. All maintenance expenses must have prior approval in order for reimbursement.

Breakdowns

Unfortunately, mechanical breakdowns are a possibility. If your motorhome is delayed in an authorized repair center for more than 12 hours due to eligible mechanical breakdown (where the cause is not due to negligence of the renter), you will be eligible for a refund of the daily rental rate. Certain restrictions apply, call our office for more information.

BATES Motorhome Rental of New Orleans reserves the right to revise these policies at any time, without prior notice. Rentals are subject to the Terms and Conditions of the Rental Agreement.
